Unusual viral skin infection

What it means

An increased susceptibility to viral infection of the skin, as manifested by a recurrent or severe cutaneous viral infection, or by a skin infection caused by an atypical or opportunistic organism. Common causative organisms include herpes simplex virus, varicella-zoster virus, human papillomavirus, and Molluscum contagiosum.

A recurrent or disseminated viral skin infection can be a manifestation of T-cell deficiencies, DOCK8 deficiency, and WHIM syndrome.
