What it means

Yellow-white intraretinal deposits in the retina typically associated with damaged inner blood-retina barrier and exudation of serous fluid and lipids from the retinal microvasculature.

Retinal exudation refers to fluid which has escaped from retinal blood vessels with a high concentration of lipid, protein, and cellular debris with a typically bright, reflective, white or cream colored appearance on the surface of the retina. Retinal exudates indicate increased vessel permeability and an associated risk of retinal edema.
