Plantar flexion contracture

What it means

A type of contracture in which the plantar flexion muscles are contracted.

Plantar flexion is the movement of the top of the foot away from the leg in a downward motion. With plantar flexion contracture, the abiliuty to passively or actively move the tip of the toe back closer to the leg is limited.
