The gastrocnemius is located together with the soleus muscle in the calf of the leg. Gastrocnemius myalgia refers to pain and tenderness in this muscle with a course of weeks or months or more. Gastrocnemius myalgia is a rarely observed initial manifestation of Crohn disease.
