Cutaneous myxoma

What it means

A myxoma originating in the skin.

Cutaneous myxomas are sharply demarcated nodules of the dermis or subcutis that may occur as solitary lesions or in association with Carney complex. Microscopically, cutaneous myxomas in the Carney complex have sharp circumscription, hypocellularity, abundant myxoid stroma, prominent capillaries and an occasional epithelial component.
