Soft tissue sarcoma

What it means

A type of sarcoma (A connective tissue neoplasm formed by proliferation of mesodermal cells) that develops from soft tissues like fat, muscle, nerves, fibrous tissues, blood vessels, or deep skin tissues.

Soft tissue sarcomas can be found in any part of the body but most often originate in the arms or legs. They can also be found in the trunk, head and neck area, internal organs, and in the retroperitoneum.
