Myocardial late gadolinium enhancement

What it means

Areas of high signal intensity in magnetic resonance imaging of the heart appearing 10 to 15 minutes after injection of the intercellular contrast agent gadolinium.

LGE can be detected in post-infarct scars, inflammation, as well as non-ischemic CMP, cardiac neoplasm and storage diseases such as amyloidosis.
