What it means

A reduction in the tendency of a person to seek or maintain social connections or interactions with others compared to previous norms for an individual.

This feature may be reported by family members or peers. This feature is distinct from (but may be accompanied by) loneliness, which can be defined as a perceived discrepancy between one's actual and desired social relationships.
