Broad fingertips

HP:0011300

What it means

Increased width of the distal segment of a finger.

This term should be reserved for use when the distal digit is significantly broader than the middle part. It should not be used if the digit has Clubbing or Macrodactyly or if the entire finger is broad. The distinction to the term Broad distal phalanx of finger is that this term is a clinical impression while Broad distal phalanx of finger refers to the objectively measured width of the distal phalane (bone), a radiological finding.
