What it means

An anomaly of the circulating level of a gonadotropin, that is, of a protein hormone secreted by gonadotrope cells of the anterior pituitary of vertebrates. The primary gonadotropins are luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).
