Drug interactions
Suvorexant has several drug interactions that may affect its efficacy and safety.
- majorCYP3A inhibitors — Recommended dose is 5 mg when used with moderate CYP3A inhibitors; not recommended with strong CYP3A inhibitors.
- majorCYP3A inducers — Efficacy may be reduced when co-administered with strong CYP3A inducers.
- moderatedigoxin — Monitor digoxin concentrations due to slight increase in levels.
- moderatealcohol — Additive psychomotor impairment demonstrated.
- majorgrapefruit juice — Recommended dose is 5 mg when used with moderate CYP3A inhibitors.
