Veterans’ Disability Compensation

Federal

This program can give you money once a month if you are a veteran with a service-related disability.

About this program

This program gives you money to help with day-to-day life if you're a veteran living with a service-related disability. The amount of money you get depends on your disability. You don't have to pay taxes on this money. You may qualify for more money if:

  • You live with severe disabilities or lost a limb
  • You have a spouse, children, and/or parents who depend on you
  • You have a spouse who lives with a disability

How do I apply?

You can apply online or print and fill out VA Form 21-526EZ (Application for Disability Compensation and Related Compensation Benefits) and send it to a VA Regional Office near you.

If you have questions or need help, call the VA benefits hotline at 800-827-1000 or visit the eBenefits website to learn more.
