About this program

If you own a home in New York City and have a permanent disability, the Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption Program (DHE) may help you save money on your property taxes. The DHE Program lowers the amount of your home’s value that is taxed, which can help reduce your property tax bill.

What is the New York Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption Program?

The New York Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption Program is a program that helps lower property taxes for people with disabilities who own and live in their homes.
