NH Elderly and Disabled Tax Deferral Program

State

This program can give you more time to pay your property tax for a house you own and live in. The state will charge interest on any deferred (delayed) property tax. The delayed taxes and all interest charged must be repaid to the state if you sell or transfer your residence. You can get help from this program if you are at least 65 years of age or have a disability. You must also meet other program guidelines.

About this program

How can this program help me?

This program can give you extra time to pay property taxes on your primary residence (home). It does not cancel the property taxes you owe. You will have to pay interest on any delayed property tax. You can delay the payment of your property tax for as long as you own and live in the same home. The delayed taxes and all interest charged must be repaid to the state if you sell or transfer your residence.

How do I get help?

To apply for this program, print and fill out the application form and mail it to your local tax assistance office.
