Indiana Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption Program

State

You can take part in this program if you are an honorably discharged U.S. veteran with a service-connected disability. You must also own a home and pay property tax on it. The home must be where you live most of the year. If you are a surviving spouse (who has not remarried) you may be able to get this property tax benefit.

About this program

How can this program help me?

The Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption program gives you a tax exemption (tax break) if you are a qualifying U.S. veteran with a disability. It can help lower the amount of property tax you pay. The type and amount of exemption depends on your level of service-connected disability, your time in service, and other factors.

How do I get help?

To apply for this program, print and fill out the application form and mail it to your local tax assistance office. If you have questions, contact your County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO).
