Idaho Property Tax Deferral Program

State

The Property Tax Deferral program can give you more time to pay your property tax for a house you own and live in. The state will charge interest on any deferred (delayed) property tax. The delayed taxes and all interest charged must be repaid to the state if you sell or transfer your residence. You may get help from this program if you have limited income and are 65 years of age or older, are blind, or have a disability. You can also get help if you are widowed or a veteran with a disability.

About this program

How can this program help me?

The Property Tax Deferral Program can give you extra time to pay property taxes on your primary residence (home) and up to one acre of land. It does not cancel the property taxes you owe. You will have to pay interest on any delayed property tax. You can delay the payment of your property tax for as long as you own and live in the same home. The delayed taxes and all interest charged must be repaid to the state if you sell or transfer your residence.

How do I get help?
