The Senior Citizen or Disabled Veteran Property Exemption Program offers a property tax exemption (tax break) to help lower the amount of property tax you pay. You may also get help if you are 60 years of age or older and the widow of a veteran who was receiving this exemption.

About this program

How can this program help me?

This program offers a property tax exemption (tax break) if you are an older adult or, in some cases, a veteran with a disability. The tax benefit applies to the home you own and live in. It can help you lower the amount of property tax you pay by exempting (leaving out) some of the assessed (estimated) value. The assessed value is the dollar amount used to decide how much you will have to pay in property taxes.

How do I get help?
