The Maryland SPDAP program can help you with your Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage costs. You can get help from the Maryland SPDAP if you have lived in Maryland for at least six months, have Medicare, and have a limited income.
About this program
The Maryland SPDAP program can help you with your Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage costs in two ways:
1. Maryland SPDAP will pay up to $40 per month towards your Medicare Prescription Drug Plan premium. In order to get the $40 per month, you must be in a Medicare-approved Prescription Drug Plan or a Medicare Advantage prescription drug plan.
2. In some situations, Maryland SPDAP can help you during the Medicare coverage gap or “doughnut hole” by paying part of your prescription drug costs. However, this assistance is sometimes unavailable or is available only to existing members for the previous year.
How do I apply?
To apply for the Maryland SPDAP, print and fill out an application. Please send your completed application back to the program as instructed on the form.
