University personnel will perform research in the broad area of quantum computer science and quantum information theory. University personnel will perform research in the broad area of quantum computer science and quantum information theory. These activities will be undertaken upon request by and in close collaboration with staff members of the NIST Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) or their successors who are engaged as Fellows of the Joint Center for Quantum Information in Computer Science (QuICS). These activities will include relevant theoretical studies in computer science and engineering, information theory, and mathematical physics, as well as the analysis and modeling of experimental results in collaboration with experimentalists at the University and NIST. These activities will require computing (both hardware and software) support, and a full range of administrative and clerical support, including outreach and web/communications support.
