BadgerCare Plus is a health coverage program for certain Wisconsin residents. It provides health coverage for low-income adults, both with and without dependent children. You may qualify for the program if you cannot get health insurance through Wisconsin’s other ForwardHealth Plans, such as Medicaid for the Elderly, Blind, or Disabled.

The program pays for medical services, such as:

  • Visits to health care providers, including physicians and nurse practitioners
  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital services
  • Prescription drug coverage (in certain cases)
  • Lab tests
  • X-rays
  • Family planning services

To get program benefits, you should go to a health care provider who participates in the program. In some cases, there may be a copay.
