About this program

Health Safety Net pays for some health services if you have limited income and do not have health insurance. The program only covers services at specific hospitals and health centers, and only certain services are covered. You should check with the hospital and doctor first to see if the program will cover the services. Services that may be covered include:

  • Hospital care

  • Vision care

Please note: In some cases, you may be able to have other insurance, such as private insurance through your employer, and use Health Safety Net as secondary coverage. Check with Health Safety Net to see how the plans may work together.
