This program helps you figure out your needs and provides training on meal planning and preparation, orientation and mobility, how to read in Braille, kitchen safety, how to organize and identify items in your home, and how to use adaptive devices. You can take part in this program if you are 55 years of age or older and you are blind or have a condition that will lead to blindness.

This program helps you figure out your needs and provides training on meal planning and preparation, orientation and mobility, how to read in Braille, kitchen safety, how to organize and identify items in your home, and how to use adaptive devices.
Project COPE also provides you with short training programs, such as:
- Confident living program: This program provides a 30-hour training over 4 days where you participate in a small group to learn a variety of practical skills to increase your independence.
- Home-based training: This program provides a 4-hour training session in your own home and focuses on meal preparation, medication, transportation, and money management.
- Support service provider: This is a 2-day training program for any person who will help you as an interpreter.
