The primary objective of this program is to contribute technical assistance and financial resources to private landowners to restore, conserve, and protect natural resources in the Gulf Coast Region. Technical assistance is provided for conservation planning, design and implementation of restoration practices for eligible participants. Technical assistance is provided for conservation planning, design and implementation of restoration practices for eligible participants. Payments may be made to implement one or more eligible structural, vegetative, and land management restoration practices. The USDA program has focused on decreasing nutrient and sediment runoff on private agricultural and forested lands as a strategy for improving water quality in the Gulf. The expected return on investments are improved water quality, wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities.
