Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) - Oklahoma
State
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) can provide you with certain foods at no cost. You may be able to get help from this program if you are 60 years of age or older, meet the program guidelines, and live in a county or community that offers CSFP.
About this program
If you are 60 or older and live in Oklahoma, you may qualify for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), also known as the Senior Food Box Program. This program helps older adults with low incomes get food at no cost. If you qualify, you can receive a box of food each month to help with your grocery costs.
Each box contains 16 to 20 food items, weighs about 40 pounds, and includes foods you can use to prepare meals at home.
How does the Oklahoma Commodity Supplemental Food Program work?
The Oklahoma Senior Food Box Program provides a monthly box of food to eligible older adults through local agencies. The food is meant to add to the groceries you already buy, not provide everything you need for the month. It can help you spend less on groceries while adding important vitamins and nutrients to your meals.
The foods in your box may change each month. A typical box may contain shelf-stable foods such as:
-
Canned fruits and vegetables
-
Canned meats, such as beef, pork, or beef stew
-
Pasta or rice
-
Dry beans or peanut butter
-
Fruit juice
-
Dry cereal
-
Cheese
-
Powdered or canned milk
Each box contains about $50 worth of food. You can also receive food through CSFP if you get help from another food assistance program, including SNAP.
Who can get help from the Oklahoma Senior Food Box Program?
You may qualify for CSFP in Oklahoma if you:
