Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) - New Hampshire

State

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) can provide you with certain foods at no cost. You may be able to get help from this program if you are 60 years of age or older, meet the program guidelines, and live in a county or community that offers CSFP.

About this program

If you live in New Hampshire and are 60 or older, you may be able to get free food through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). In New Hampshire, CSFP is also known as the Senior Food Box Program. The program helps older adults with low incomes get a free box of healthy food each month to help with grocery costs.

Each box weighs about 40 pounds and includes different foods that you can use to make meals at home.

How does the New Hampshire Commodity Supplemental Food Program work?

New Hampshire CSFP provides eligible older adults with a free box of shelf-stable foods each month. The box is meant to add to the food you already have and help lower your grocery costs. It does not provide all the food you need for the month.

The items in your box can change from one month to the next. Your box may include shelf-stable foods such as:

-

Canned fruits and vegetables

-

Canned meats, such as beef, pork, or beef stew

-

Pasta or rice

-

Dry beans or peanut butter

-

Fruit juice

-

Dry cereal

-

Cheese

-

Powdered or canned milk

You can get CSFP food even if you also receive help from another food assistance program, including SNAP. Each food box contains about $50 worth of food.

You can pick up your food box at a CSFP location near you. If you cannot pick it up yourself, you can ask a family member or friend to pick it up for you. Drive-through pickup is also available at all CSFP distribution sites in New Hampshire.
