SageAlly Patient Advocacy Program
State
The Patient Advocacy Program helps older adults in New York and New Jersey understand their health care options, solve insurance and billing problems, and get the support they need.
About this program
Medical bills, insurance denials, and coverage questions can be frustrating—especially when you're already focused on your health. The Patient Advocacy Program, offered through SageAlly, helps older adults in New York and New Jersey understand their options, resolve billing and insurance issues, and get the support they need to navigate the health care system with confidence.
What is the Patient Advocacy Program?
The Patient Advocacy Program includes a range of services that help resolve medical bill issues, insurance problems, and other health care concerns on your behalf. Once you enroll, you can get help in several areas, including:
-
Medical Bill Review and Negotiation: A patient advocate reviews your bills to look for errors, duplicate charges, or overcharges. If problems are found, they work with providers to help lower the amount you owe.
-
Insurance Denial Appeals: If Medicare or your insurance company denies a claim, a patient advocate can guide you through the appeals process. They review the denial, gather supporting documents, and work on your behalf until the issue is resolved.
-
Prior Authorization Support: Some treatments, tests, and medications require approval before they are covered by insurance. A patient advocate can help with the prior authorization process so you can receive needed care.
SageAlly also offers Medicare and benefits navigation, care coordination, hospital bill review, and other services, so you have support every step of the way.
Note: Many patient advocacy services may be covered by Medicare for eligible individuals enrolled in Original Medicare. Coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary based on your insurance and individual circumstances. Some people with Medigap or other secondary insurance may have little or no out-of-pocket costs, but coverage varies. Be sure to ask how services will be billed and what costs you may be responsible for.
Am I eligible for the Patient Advocacy Program?
Many of SageAlly's patient advocacy services are available to older adults in New York and New Jersey. Medicare-covered services are generally available to eligible individuals enrolled in Original Medicare. Contact SageAlly to discuss your situation and learn what services may be available to you.
How do I enroll in the Patient Advocacy Program?
To get started, contact SageAlly to schedule a free consultation. During this call, your needs will be discussed and your insurance coverage will be verified. If you are a good candidate for this program, you will then have a visit with a supervising physician who will review your case and decide which services may help you.
Once you are enrolled, you can send copies of your bills, denial letters, and other documents for review. Patient advocates will review the information and handle the next steps.
What if I need help?
