Drug interactions
Chlorpheniramine has several drug interactions that may lead to increased risks or reduced efficacy of concomitant medications.
- majorphenytoin — may increase phenytoin levels and toxicity
- majorserotonergic drugs — may result in serotonin syndrome
- majorMonoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) — can potentiate the effects of hydrocodone
- majormuscle relaxants — may enhance respiratory depression
- moderatediuretics — may reduce the efficacy of diuretics
- majorCYP3A4 inhibitors — can increase plasma concentration of hydrocodone
- majorCYP3A4 inducers — can decrease plasma concentration of hydrocodone
- majorbenzodiazepines and other CNS depressants — can increase risk of respiratory depression and sedation
- majoralcohol — can result in increased hydrocodone plasma levels and overdose
